What a day.

Howdy everyone. Things have been a tad stressful around here lately. Its been a long day. I'm totally ready for bed, and I'm praying for a good nights sleep, something I'm in desperate need of.

We had some fun tonight. My friend Mindi (who has a private blog) posted about some water balloon catchers she made for her kids, she got the idea from FamilyFun.com I think it was. When I saw them, I thought it was pretty cool, and I had the stuff to make them so we made some today. The girls had a great time with them. Even Bree could catch the balloons. Of course I took a bunch of pictures, so I'll share them with you.

If you notice, Jilly has several different outfits on in these pictures, yet they were all taken this evening. She changes her clothes every 5 freakin minutes, not kidding. Its no wonder I always have a mountain of laundry to do.

Things were going great outside with the water balloons. Bill got involved too. Jilly threw some at him, and he at her...he hit her and she went nutso on him. She ran after him like a maniac, like she was going to rip his head off. He defended himself by sticking his knee up...but Jilly ran into it, full force. It knocked the breath out of her and she fell to the ground trying to catch it. I went to her to help her, she grabbed my hand like she was going to get up, then she fell down, laying on her stomach. She was kinda shaking, making snorting noises, rolling a bit, I think she kind of blacked out a few seconds and seized! It was scary. When she got up she asked if she fell asleep. She was quite shaken, and so was I. I had her go into the house and lay down a bit to relax her a bit. She was complaining of shoulder pain, so we iced it. For a while I was sure we'd end up having to go to the ER, but thankfully now she seems fine. She's back to being loud, hyper, and annoying Bree. It was really scary though when it happened. Bill apologized to her, he didn't mean to hurt her, he just put his knee up to defend himself, it was purely an accident. I'm so glad she is better.

Miss Bree has frustrated me. She has been daytime potty trained for a few months now and doing great. The only time she wore a diaper or pull up was at bedtime. Well, twice this week she pooped in her pants! She was proud of it too. I was not. After today's mess I told her that I was disappointed, and sent her to her bed to think about things. We both needed that time out. She ended up falling asleep...which means I'll be up until 2 a.m. probably. Bah. Not sure what could be causing her relapse into messing her pants...unless her brother staying here has stressed her out (it has me, thats for sure). Her daddy had a talk with her about dirtying her pants today, I hope it does some good.

Thats all I can talk about for now...to stressed & tired. I need a vacation.

QOTD: When is the last time you went on vacation?

Lady Gaga? Or Lady Pasta?

I've mentioned before that my girls are Lady Gaga fans. I like her music as well, although I find some of her video's totally bizarre! For instance the Alejandro video...I saw it and thought to myself, wth is this woman smokin? She is one strange (but talented) woman.

Have you heard of Lady Pasta? How about the Annoying Orange? I know you've heard of that, if you read my blog. Bree LOVES the Annoying Orange. My mom sent me a link to view it once a while back and Bree bacame a big fan. So now, I am following the Annoying Orange on Facebook, and when they do the new weekly videos I know about it right away and we watch it together. This last weeks video was about "Lady Pasta". Its kinda funny (in an annoying orange kinda way). All the girls really enjoyed this video, and Bree pretends to be Lady Pasta & Jilly pretends to be the annoying orange. THAT I should get on video sometime...

Check this out:

Funny no? In an annoying kind of way..

Cranky

I'm still alive, just cranky.
I totally blew off this weeks Show Me Saturday. Sorry.
Its been a crazy week.
Not much sleep because of the dog mostly, but a few other causes as well.
Zach's been here for a week...and he likes to whine and complain.
The girls have been bickering A LOT.
I'm tired.
The faucet thingy in the tub is broke.
Bill had to shut the water off Friday night because the water wouldn't go off after he showered.
He tried calling a plumber on Saturday.
Apparently plumbers around here don't work weekends....
I'm hoping they return his call in the morning...
So, being without water mostly, sucks.
We can briefly turn it on for a quick shower, and to fill up some buckets, but thats about it.
Then when you turn it back off the thingy downstairs starts to leak too.
If its not one thing its another.
Went shopping for a few back to school things for the girls today.
Yikes.
Shopping with the 3 girls & Zach is not fun.
I needed a drink after, and I'm not talking McD's coke either.
Anyways..the girls have backpacks, and a few other things, and Jilly has her shoes for P.E., I'm hoping we are set on the supplies part of back to school now.
Next we need clothing...not looking forward to that.
Jilly & Zach have a birthday coming up too.
Zach is an adult now, so he isn't getting much...which won't make him happy but to bad, maybe if he paid me back the $400 he has owed me for 2 yrs now I might feel differently come birthday time...
Anyways...
Have I mentioned I'm tired?
And cranky?

QOTD: What has your weekend mood been?

5 Question Friday 7-23-10

Crap, I just typed the date in the title and realized I forgot to pay my car insurance while I was out a bit ago, it's due today! Guess I'll be making another trip out soon...

So anyways, its Friday, TGIF? That means its time for Mama M.'s 5 Question Friday, and I'm going to play along again. If you would like to as well please do! Visit Mama M.'s site for full rules and to link up, or you can just leave your answers in my comments here too.

1. What were your school colors?

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. My school colors were blue & orange. Oswego High School, we were panthers.
2. Probably that I'm a good mother. I'm sure I'm not the best...but its nice to be complimented on it, makes me feel good.
3. Expensive. I have an over active poop shoot and spend a lot of time in the bathroom and a lot of wiping! I keep the TP companies in business I think. That scott crap is NO GOOD, you need 1/2 the roll just to keep your hand dry as you wipe your cooter, nearly a full roll to wipe the backside...I'll use the expensive stuff on my sensitive booty.
4. I don't think I have had one for me...if I did, I don't remember...I threw a little one for Jilly's birthday a few years ago. She always gets the shaft when it comes to birthdays because hers falls right when school starts and we are broke, and she never has addresses for friends to invite them over or anything at that point. So we had a little surpise party with family and her best buddie Jackie, Jilly didn't know anyone was coming over for it.
5. My computer. It keeps me sane. My friends are in my computer. :)
There ya go. I look forward to hearing your answers! Happy Friday!
QOTD: How are you keeping cool in the hot humid weather?
Rambles, that YOU requested!
ARE YOU READY TO RUMMMMMMBLE! Oops! I mean RAMBLE :) Why yes, I am. I think. A week or so ago (maybe longer, heck I can't remember), I mentioned to my dear viewers that I would be willing to do a little Q&A type of thing. You guys provided the Q and I provided the A...(aka my rambling on) I gave it the cutsie little name Request a Ramble.
First though...Let me show you the cake I made today. Its for a teacher friend of mine's friend. The girls all go out for margaritas on a regular basis and they will be doing that to celebrate the friends birthday, so she requested a margarita cake. I drew up 3 options for her last night, she went with this one:
cake2
cake3
The margarita glass even has 'salt' around the rim. Actually its a coarse sugar, but it looks salty :) For an easy cake, I kept messing up! My daughter Kelsey kept hanging over me watching and whenever someone does that it totally messes up my concentration and I screw up. Finally I told her to get out of the kitchen :)
Ok, back to the rambles...
Amanda at i am baker & i am mommy asks:
*Are you where you thought you would be 10 yrs ago?
Umm yes & no. I thought I'd be married with maybe another child...just didn't expect it to be with a different husband! 10 yrs ago around this time I was about a month away from giving birth to Jilly. I expected to be with her dad forever, but things changed. I'm married yes, to a different man and do have another child.
*If you could change your first name, would you?
No, I don't think I would...I like the name Renee.
*You can't have coffee, alcohol, or juice for a month, what do you drink?
EASY! McD's coke! :) My favorite!
*What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate marshmallow! It was a favorite of mine as a kid, and still is. Its harder to find now a days :( Rocky Road is similar, but I don't like it because it has nuts....just give me chocolate and marshmallow..
*Who is your favorite President, past or present?
I'm totally not in to politics, nor am I up to date on all the things that happen with each President...I don't vote either (shame on me right?) I go with the flow with whoever is in office pretty much...I think I'll say Obama...because he isn't bad to look at. Plus, he is trying to change things for the better...even though it may not be going well at the moment...
*What kind of shoes are your favorite?
NO SHOES :) I like to be barefoot as much as possible. But when I do need shoes I like some kind of slip ons.
*Where would you live if you could live anywhere?
I would want to live anywhere that my children are located...I want to be with my family.
Rhea (my mother) asks:
*Is Jesus still a part of your life?
Yes. I believe in him, and pray to him occassionally. I do not go to church though, or read the bible. (I do read scriptures that people post on their blogs though sometimes, that counts, sorta) I think I can be a good person and believe in Jesus, even if I don't go to church. If not, well...I hope he is as forgiving as he is supposed to be, and forgives me...
Dear Donna aka Dazee asks:
*What was the fad when you were in high school?
Well Donna dear, you know I've mentioned how sucky my memory is before...so I actually had to research to refresh my memory as to what was going on all those years ago! When I did, I was totally laughing my butt off. Let me tell you about some 80's fads (I graduated in 1987)...
leg warmers, tail hairstyles, zipper leg jeans, valley girl talk (Like wow! Like totally! Like gag me with a spoon!), big hair bows, Weird Al, wearing your collar up, big hair, break dancing, California Raisins, Miami Vice fashion, shoulder pads, OP aka Ocean Pacific clothing, Izod shirts, big (and multiple) belts, parachute pants, penny loafers, chinese slippers (remember those black lightweight baby doll looking shoes), the saying "PSYCHE!", Sixteen Candles the movie, Pacman, Cheech & Chong, Duran Duran, Poison, Def Lepard, Boy George, Madonna, Michael Jackson....my oh my the list goes on...Here are a few others, a visual for you:
80's
Lets not forget this popular commercial of the 80's...Wendy's "Where's the beef?"
There you go! Questions answered. I hope you had a great day today, and an even better tomorrow...
Your turn: QOTD: What was your favorite 80's fad?
Pass the toothpicks
Pass the toothpicks, I need them to hold my eyelids open. I'm super tired today, had a rough night. My darling daughter had a late nap yesterday (BIG MISTAKE), then ended up staying awake until 1:45 a.m.. After getting her to bed I realized my husband didn't take the trash out, so at 2:00 a.m. I'm dragging the can to the curb, thank goodness for wheels which make it somewhat quiet so I didn't wake the neighbors. I tossed the dog out for a quick pee then went to bed. Not 10 minutes later the dog had to go out again...and again, and again! This went on until 3:30 a.m. finally I get to sleep, and the damn phone rings at 5:20 a.m. ugh. It took a bit to go back to sleep after that but I did...until Bill came home in between jobs. I heard him change his clothes, and slam the garage door to let the dog out, and I heard him leave. By then I said screw it and got up, I had crap I needed to do anyways. Its just so frustrating when I'm so tired and either I can't sleep or someone or thing keeps me from sleeping. It makes me cranky.
The girls & I made a trip to Wallyworld today for a few things I needed to make some cakes. Tomorrow is my parents anniversary and my mom asked me to make a banana cake for her. I've never made one before, so I had to search online for a recipe. I found one that had 808 reviews to it. Nearly all of them gave it 5 stars, and everyone said it was THE BEST banana cake they ever had...so I decided to give it a try. I made one for my parents, and one for here, because by golly I wanna taste it too :) I had a piece tonight, its good. I don't know that its 5 star worthy or worthy of the title of THE BEST, but its pretty good. I hope mom & dad like it tomorrow. I picked up a cake carrier today for their cake too, since Wally didn't have any cake boxes left for sale...heck they didn't have half the stuff I needed for cake supplies, shame on them...So I get the cake into the carrier and I was going to put it in the fridge downstairs...The lid just sat there, it didn't click on or anything, I'm like, what the heck? I thought the lid would be more secure than what it was. Come to find out it should be, the one I got was missing a latch thing, ugh. So now I have no carrier, I begged Bill to take it with him to work tonight to exchange it for me. He took it...I just hope he remembers to exchange it so I have something to transport my cake in tomorrow.
I also picked up supplies for another cake I need to do this week. My daughters former 1st grade teacher (who is my facebook friend) asked me to make a margarita themed 1/4 sheet cake for pick up on Wednesday. This afternoon I got a text from her asking if its ok to do a 1/2 sheet now instead. Sure! Why not?! :) Just need to make another quick store trip for more supplies...
Last night I had the gnarly task of cleaning up barf. Bree decided to barf on MY bed while laying with Jilly in there. Of course it was on my side of the bed...It wasn't a barf overload, but enough to require sheet changes, and our electric blanket will need to be washed. She seemed fine before & after said barf incident...and she was fine till her barf incident today not to long after lunch...this time thankfully it was another small one, and it was done on the kitchen floor, much easier to clean up. I remember when I was younger, I thought NO FREAKIN WAY could I ever clean anyone elses barf up...then I became a parent. Its amazing the things you make yourself do for your children.
Kelsey was going to have some friends over tonight. Unfortunately for her things didn't work out that way. A few of the friends never bothered to get back to her with a for sure answer, and one was busy...well she had to clean tomorrow and her mom didn't want her staying up late and crabby to clean. Poohy. Kels was quite bummed. I told her she can try again another night. The plan was to sleep in the tent too, and at the time the weather was supposed to be great, but as of this morning that changed and rain storms, even severe ones were being forecasted for tonight...so I'm kind of glad things got cancelled. I didn't want them out in nasty weather and I really didn't want them in the house, after my crappy sleep night last night.
Bree is watching The Upside Down Show...this show is odd...the dudes are hyper as heck, and quite annoying. I wonder if I can talk her into watching something else... She had a nap today that lasted quite a while so I'm sure she is going to be up a bit more yet...lucky me.
As you know, I've been working hard growing out my hair right? The last few days I've straightened it for a different look. Kelsey is having fun petting my head now, she says my hair is so soft hehe. Crazy kid. It IS really soft though...wanna feel? Anyways, Zach is staying here tonight and he just informed me that I need to quit growing out my hair, long hair doesn't suit me he says and wants me to put it back to how I had it... Not sure my husband feels the same way...
Yawn. I'm tired. I'm sure I'm probably boring the crap out of you too, just rambling on and on about boring stuff...
QOTD: How much would you pay for a 1/2 sheet sized (serves 30-40 people) decorated cake?
Feeling the urge...
I really really REALLY want to rearrange my furniture! My husband hates when I do this, because I usually need his help to move something heavy, or to switch cables etc...So I'm trying to resist my urge to change things up. Its so hard, because our living room is small and we have a lot of furniture so changing is not a easy task. But I always feel so good when its done, it gets a good cleaning, and things look different, instead of the same ole same ole that I see every stinking day.
I'd like to change things in the kitchen too, I'd kill for a round table instead of the rectangle one we have. There are only a few ways for it to sit in there and its awkward every way. I wonder if anyone on Freecycle has a round table to get rid of...
Our bedroom...OY. The bed has been in the same spot since I met Bill. There really isn't much we can do in there since our bedroom furniture is HUGE and the room is small....but it really drives me bonkers. I hate keeping rooms the same, especially permanently! :( There is probably one way I could change it, but it would involve some serious work, and Bill's help, and I know there is NO WAY he'd do it. Bah.
Maybe I'll change up my blog...I blame you Dazee for this :P I've been thinking about it for a bit now and you changing up yours really got me in the mood now.... I need to take some new pics of my family for a new banner first though, so I can't do that now. Drat.
Oh well...maybe I'll fight the urge by being lazy, and reading a book today... I should run to the store for some supplies for baking. I'm going to make a banana cake for my parents anniversary this week. I should also do some cleaning for Kelsey is having a few friends over tomorrow to sleep out in the tent...but I'm leaning on making her do the cleaning since she is the one wanting people over...sounds like a good plan to me. Hopefully it will stay somewhat clean, for my mother in law is babysitting for a bit on Tuesday night. Kels & I have to go to a stupid mandatory meeting at the school regarding sports and rules and crap. Its so not fun sitting in the HOT school for boring meetings. Bah.
I'm a little cranky today, can you tell? Bree woke me up earlier then I wanted to be, and earlier then she needed to be up, she is cranky as heck and in need of a serious nap. I also woke up to diarrhea and my period. Woo freakin hoo. I need some chocolate, chips, and a good nap.
QOTD: Do you like to rearrange furniture?
Toodles!
