Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Its Halloween
I was trick or treating with a toddler, pre-teen, and teen.
The girls were dressed as a bad tourist, a goth girl and a bumble bee
oh, what a sight to see.
The air was brisk & crisp, the wind was blowing about. "It's freaking cold!" I wanted to shout.
One, two, three, four, off we go, door to door.
Candy here, candy there, the girls kept wanting more more more.
Carrying a heavy toddler while I'm coughing up a lung...was not my idea of FUN.
The girls are cold and want to rest,
off we go to Grandma's, she's the best!
Warmth & treats at Grams house for all.
With cough medicine with codine for me, that was the best of all! :)
We survived Halloween 2009 just fine...
With loads of candy & sugar highs!

For your viewing pleasure...

Priceless & coughing curse

When I got the mail in from the box yesterday, I found a surprise. Unfortunatly, it wasn't a million dollars. Thankfully it wasn't bills. What I found was something priceless. Jilly had made something for me the day before, put it in an envelope, and stuck it in the mailbox. So when I grabbed the mail out, her surprise was in there. The envelope was addressed to me. Inside she had drawn a picture for me. She also left me a note. It said:

Dear Mommy,
Your the best mom in the world and no mom can replace you. And even though you sometimes ground me or yell at me, I don't care, I love you for who you are.
Love, Jilly Bean

AWWWWWW! :) It made my day.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a curse, a coughing curse. It comes from having kids, and being old, and all that fun stuff...When I cough hard, if I'm not extremely careful, I will piss myself! UGH! It sucks being old. It sucks moreso having a cough and being old. I just might have to invest in a diaper for myself lol. Nothing worse then driving your kids to school, coughing and pissing yourself. Oy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a few pics for you today. One is Jilly in her Goth girl outfit for Halloween. One is bree sporting some black make up on her face and looking cute. And one is the brownie treats I made for Jilly to take to school today.

Trick or Treat!

Halloween is almost here. Just wondering...what kind of trick will YOU do for a treat?

I'll do one. Right now. Are you ready? I'm going to eat something gross...

Ready?

Are you sure?

Ok...

Here it goes...

Yummy worms :) Want one? Now where is my treat?!?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news...Kelsey got her big splint taken off today and the pins in her finger removed. Yay. She is so happy to have that taken care of. Tomorrow she has to go to physical therapy, cha ching, fun fun. Here is a picture of her hand/finger with the pins right after they took the splint off, before they removed the pins. Her hand is all gross, dry and dirty (and stinky too!) from having that big splint on for 3 wks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To take your mind off that grossness, here is a picture of little Miss Bree coloring...and of course making a mess lol. I think she got more marker on her then on the paper.

Holy Healthcare Costs Batman!

Yesterday we got our insurance summary thing in the mail for Kelsey's little ER visit a few weeks ago and for her day surgery to get the pins in her finger. All I can say is, I'm super grateful we have insurance! Without it, we'd be paying over $7,000. With insurance that is knocked down to around $400. Hell, the $400 sucks, but its soooo much better then the alternative.

Ohhhhh money tree...why aren't you blooming? We sure could use you.

Speaking of health stuff...Bill & Jilly were sick recently, and they gave it to me. How dare they? So I have a horrible cough and my chest hurts. I'm feeling super tired and worn out. Blah.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weaning update: Things are going good. Bree is still buying the donkey story. I've added a duck to the story to keep her interested. LOL. Its been over a week now since she's had daytime boob. And we've had 2 nights of NO BOOB whatsoever. So when she woke up in the middle of the night, I got to deal with the devil boob wanting child, not so much fun, but I didn't give in. Last night was a total nightmare. I was super tired from not feeling well. Finally went to bed at about 10:30 ish, at 2 a.m. Bree woke up. Because I didn't give in to boob, she sought revenge...she stayed awake until 5:30 a.m.! Once I got little turd to sleep I hit the sack too, but not for long because I had to be up at 6:15. I was totally not happy when the alarm went off.
So this morning we had a bunch of errands to run. Before we headed home, I swung by McD's to get us some food to eat on the way home. I thought she could eat on the way back and be ready for sleep when we got home. She ended up falling asleep before eating much of anything, and she is sleeping now. I took a nap myself, for about 20 minutes...then the coughing came and woke me up. Its so frustrating. My son says during my sleep I was snoring super loud :) Thats what happens when you are fat, exhausted, and sick.
Thats all for now...Toodles
Is there life after laundry?
Is there life after laundry? Ummm I don't know, couldn't tell you, because I am never caught up to find out!
Once in a great while I think I am caught up, and I start to do a happy dance. At that point, Kelsey will bring out a basket full of dirty stuff and say "oops, I forgot to bring these out", or I will find a dirty stash in Jilly's room. Its really frustrating.
Our washer and dryer are located in our basement. Our basement is full, and its a mess at the moment, and NOT toddler friendly, so I can't take Bree down with me while I do laundry. This makes it hard to get anything done since I can only do it at naptime or when someone else is here to keep her busy while I sneak down. Since naps are getting less and less, my laundry piles are getting higher and higher!
Having a housefull of mostly girls, this does not help my laundry situation. Jilly changes outfits often, because she is a DIVA, and Bree often because she is MESSY.
012-1
I need a laundry vacation...anyone else?
Its no wonder I'm a fat cow...
Since having Bree, and being a stay at home mom, I have really packed on the pounds.
I'm home all the time, can't afford to go out and do stuff really, so what do I do to pass time? I eat.
What do I do when I'm lonely? I eat.
What do I do when I'm sad? I eat.
What do I do when I'm mad? I eat.
What do I do when I'm happy? I eat!
That my friends is a lot of eating!
When I shop, I try not to pick up to many sweets or chip type things, because I know if its here, it will be on my fat ass very soon. My husband on the other hand doesn't see that. If I say I'm craving chocolate, the next day he brings home a bag of it. If I say I'm hungry for chips, he brings that home. Just because I want it, doesn't mean I need it! Or so much of it! Like yesterday...Brownies were on sale so he came home with like 10 boxes of it! I know he loves me and is trying to get me things I like, but will he enjoy seeing my ass balloon up so big I won't fit in a seat anymore? Sheesh.
As for the brownie mixes...they are in my pantry, staring me down everytime I go in there. I'm thinking about making something with them for Halloween for Jilly to take to school. Then at least a few of them won't end up on my butt.
Thats it for now...
Ride the waves, not the carpet!!
OY! One of our stupid cats loves to butt surf across the carpet leaving lovely turd tracks. YUCK!! Sissy please start licking your ass when you are done shitting! Its one thing to scratch your butt surfing like that, but don't use the carpet as your toilet paper. Here is a picture of the little surfer girl:
039
We have another cat, Tigger, who is no angel herself. Just last night she was naughty, she kept me awake by playing with a stupid ping pong ball toy in the hallway next to my room. She also knocked the gate down going into Aubrey's room twice last night! Bad kitty. Here is Tigger:
038
And then there is Moo...who is not at the top of my buddy list, and hasn't been for a very very long time...She causes me to much trouble to go into at the moment. Here is a pic though, of our dog, that looks like a cow...Her name is Jasmine, but we nicknamed her Moo and never ever call her Jasmine anymore lol.
(yes, she is wearing a bark collar...with no batteries :) She is quiet when its on even though its not working)
I have a love hate relationship with all these pets we have. Life sure would be easier if we didn't have them, but times they offer some cuddles and loving..so they aren't all bad.
One more thing before I get off here...Do you ever HEAR your pets fart? All my life pretty much we've had some kind of pet, cats or dogs...all that time I never HEARD them fart. I would definately SMELL them, but never heard it actually happen...Until I met Bill's cats, and the dog we got once we got together. You actually HEAR them fart! Soooooo very bizarre. At least its good warning to vacate the room.
Thats it for now...
Holy crap, I've been given an award!
Yep! You read right, someone gave lil (I should really say BIG cuz I'm super fat) ole me an award! Can you believe it??
honest_scrap_large
I know right, shocked eh? Someone actually reads my blog and thinks it deserves an award :) That someone is Mindi over at Part of Me Thanks so much Mindi, I'm honored. I'm glad you found my blog recently, you may be my only reader lol.
So the rules of this award are as follows:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link to their blog. (check)
2. Share 10 honest things about yourself. (check)
3. Present this award to 7 other whose blogs you find brilliant in design or content. (check (sorta))
4. Tell those 7 people they have been awarded. (check but only 4 ppl)
10 Honest things about me:
1. I'm fat. I'm addicted to junk food, especially fountain coke from McDonalds!
2. I honestly cuss way to much...I need to work on that damn it.
3. I don't like small places.
4. I spend way to much time at my computer.
5. I'm afraid of bugs.
6. I have low self esteem.
7. I (like Mindi) have dated many scum bags. I wanted to be loved, but was looking in the wrong places.
8. I really really would like to have one more child.
9. Some days I wish I could just hide in a closet all day and ignore the world around me.
10. It's hard to come up with 10 things.
Ok next is to present this award to 7 other blogs that I find outstanding :) This is the hard part for me, because most of the blogs I read are family/friends that don't update often, and blogs of people I don't really know and I'm sure they are to busy to mess around with awards (they probably get bunches of them). I'd do Mindi, but since she just got one she probably doesn't want another :) So I'll see how many I can get...
1. My best online buddy (I say online because we have never met in person, but I'm sure we'd be best buds in real life too :) ) Tammy
2. Another one of my best online buds Kami
3. Kristi I found her through her daughters Caringbridge site years ago. She has moved on to her own blog and I love reading her posts, she is pretty humorous.
4. I recently found this blog No Time for Flash Cards She has a ton of craft ideas for young children.
Ok, thats all I can come up with right now! Sorry I can't live up to my award rules :( 50 lashes with a wet noodle for me!
Thanks again Mindi for the award!
Toodles :)
Decorated my blog for the season
I was farting around on Scrapblog tonight making a siggy for my mommy group, and I decided to make a new header for my blog and change things up a little. How does it look? I think I like it, except I wish I could make the header a tad bit smaller. I'm not to technical so I have no idea how to do so at this point, maybe if I dinked around with it more I'd figure it out, but I'm to tired to...
Weaning story
Here is the story I mentioned in yesterdays post about weaning. I copied and pasted it from the post I made in my mommy group because I'm way to lazy at the moment to retype it :)
Well, I had tried weaning in the past with Bree, got her down to just middle of the night feedings...Getting her to go to bed was such a chore and she wasn't going to bed some nights till midnight. I got so tired that I caved in and gave her boob because I was in need of sleep....which lead to more and more boob . My daughter totally LOVES booby and she will even tell my boob she loves it lol. She had gotten so demanding about it and I'm tired of it,so we are working on the weaning process again, hopefully for good this time. Last time I used bandaids which worked well, this time not so much...she ripped them off! OUCH!! So the next plan was to talk about how booby was for babies and how she is a big girl now and needs to leave the boobies alone blah blah blah. We even went and got her some new sippy cups that I let her help me pick out. We got ones that have a spout that is even kind of nipple shaped lol, I thought it might help. So the last 2 nights have been rough with her screaming for booby, and begging me, PLEASE MOMMY PLEASE GIVE ME BOOBY, I felt so bad. So last night as she is screaming, I accidentily said something that ended up working to my advantage. I said to her, "Aubrey, I love you, I'm sorry you can't have booby anymore, I know you love it and not having it sucks donkey schlong!" She looks at me and says "donkey?" then she kept pointing to my boobs and whining, saying donkey. I'm like wth?? I didn't mean my boobs were donkey lol. So I got annoyed at hearing donkey so much so I said to her, "ok, fine, donkey. A donkey came, sucked all the booby milk, now its all gone, you can't have it anymore, you need to drink out of the sippy cup for your milk now." She looked at me rather puzzled for a second, then quietly said "donkey" and I said "yes" and she laid her head down on my chest and not another peep was said, she was asleep within 2 minutes! After all that crying all it took was telling her the donkey drank the booby. It was pretty funny.
We are on day 3 (or maybe 4) of the donkey story now. Things are going pretty good. We've had a few bad times but have gotten through it. She has had a little boob in the middle of the night, but she doesn't remember it. I hope she quits asking for it soon....weaning is hard work.
Happy news!
Just a quick post because I'm sooooooooooo very excited! Bree slept ALL NIGHT last night! YAY!! This has only happened maybe a dozen times in her whole life. She is a bad sleeper usually waking up anywhere from 3-12 times a night. I'm so happy this morning :) I hope it continues and she becomes a better sleeper. Weaning is going well too, finally...thanks to a funny story that seems to be doing the trick, it has to do with a donkey. I'll try to post about that later. Right now I have to finish getting ready so I can take the older girls to school. I was just so excited about Bree's all nighter that I had to spread the news quickly. :)
Pins & Pumpkins!
Not much new here. We carved pumpkins the other night. What a mess! I'm still finding hidden pumpkin seeds.
029
017
033
The kids enjoyed the pumpkin mess. Bree's was a cat, Kelsey's a bat, and Jilly's a puking pumkin, pretty cool.
I have some pics of Kelsey's finger with the pins in it, pretty cool, see for yourself:
006
She is pretty bummed that after going to the docs last week, he said that she has to keep her hand splinted and wrapped for another 2 weeks, then at that point he'll re-xray and change to a smaller splint. Right now the thing she has is like the size of a boxing glove.
Bree & I made some crafts last week. We made footprint ghosts, fingerprint spiders, and buttprint pumpkins :) They turned out cute and she had a blast doing it. Here are some pics.
Another fun, yet time consuming thing we did was make edible worms! They look totally cool, but not really worth the time it took, plus they didn't have much flavor. Bree loved them though :) Check out my worms:
In a funk.
Lately I've been feeling quite blah. I'm tired all the time and cranky. Its like PMS all the time. Between the dog and Aubrey I don't sleep well at night with wake ups anywhere from 3-12 times. Its really starting to wear on me. The fact that I'm old and fat probably doesn't help either. Little things get me bummed, and bigger things get me more bummed. What do I do when I'm bummed? I eat...which makes me even fatter, which makes me even more bummed! Its a vicious cycle. Thats it. Just wanted you to know.
Toodles.
Catch up
Wow, I haven't posted yet in October. Oops. I didn't really have much to say I guess. Been kind of blah feeling lately.
Last week was slightly eventful though. On Wednesday afternoon I got a call from the high school. Apparently Kelsey had broken her finger in PE. I didn't freak out because a lot of times Kelsey is a drama queen and its not nearly as bad as she says. So I figured she'll come home, we'll go to CVS and get a splint and tape the finger up in it, no big deal, thats what they would do if we went to the doctors. Money is very tight so I was hoping to avoid a doctor visit. I had just gotten Aubrey to sleep, so Zach offered to go pick Kels up at school for me. When she got home she was sobbing like crazy. The school nurse said it was pretty bad and she should go to the ER. So...off we went. Of course my kids excel at things, but sometimes the wrong things...like injuries! When they break something they break it. Come to find out, Kelsey's finger was not only broke, but it was rotated so it was crooked and turned to the side a bit. Not your ordinary breakage...SO I was told she needed surgery on it the following day. Oh goody.
Look at her ring finger:
004
Thursday we had to be at the hospital at 9. We had to take Bree with us for a bit, that was a challenge, she does not like to sit still and quiet...We saw the doc, then had to register for day surgery, then go up to her room where she got her IV. Apparently she has tiny veins, it took them 3 tries to get the IV in her, and that was with the help of the anastesioligist (sp?).
005
Once the IV was in, I called my mother in law and she met me at the house so I could drop Aubrey off and she was going to watch her for me. Thank God, it was a relief not having to chase Bree around, I could actually concentrate on Kelsey. I got back just in time, they were ready to take her back. The surgery lasted almost an hour and she did fine. They straightened the finger, then put 2 pins in it to hold it into place, and wrapped it up. We go back on Thursday for another xray and to get it looked at, and a smaller wrap thing put on it. I think the pins need to be in for 4 weeks or so.
Kelsey is doing really good. She hasn't had any pain meds since Friday night.
Friday we went to my moms for a bit to do some cleaning for her and hung out a bit. Other then that we've done nothing! SO BORING. Its cold outside, so we've been in the house cuddling up in blankets and watching tv. Also working on potty training for Bree...which is fun...NOT. :)
Thats all for now...Toodles
