ARE YOU READY TO RUMMMMMMBLE! Oops! I mean RAMBLE :) Why yes, I am. I think. A week or so ago (maybe longer, heck I can't remember), I mentioned to my dear viewers that I would be willing to do a little Q&A type of thing. You guys provided the Q and I provided the A...(aka my rambling on) I gave it the cutsie little name Request a Ramble.
First though...Let me show you the cake I made today. Its for a teacher friend of mine's friend. The girls all go out for margaritas on a regular basis and they will be doing that to celebrate the friends birthday, so she requested a margarita cake. I drew up 3 options for her last night, she went with this one:
The margarita glass even has 'salt' around the rim. Actually its a coarse sugar, but it looks salty :) For an easy cake, I kept messing up! My daughter Kelsey kept hanging over me watching and whenever someone does that it totally messes up my concentration and I screw up. Finally I told her to get out of the kitchen :)
Ok, back to the rambles...
Amanda at i am baker & i am mommy asks:
*Are you where you thought you would be 10 yrs ago?
Umm yes & no. I thought I'd be married with maybe another child...just didn't expect it to be with a different husband! 10 yrs ago around this time I was about a month away from giving birth to Jilly. I expected to be with her dad forever, but things changed. I'm married yes, to a different man and do have another child.
*If you could change your first name, would you?
No, I don't think I would...I like the name Renee.
*You can't have coffee, alcohol, or juice for a month, what do you drink?
EASY! McD's coke! :) My favorite!
*What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate marshmallow! It was a favorite of mine as a kid, and still is. Its harder to find now a days :( Rocky Road is similar, but I don't like it because it has nuts....just give me chocolate and marshmallow..
*Who is your favorite President, past or present?
I'm totally not in to politics, nor am I up to date on all the things that happen with each President...I don't vote either (shame on me right?) I go with the flow with whoever is in office pretty much...I think I'll say Obama...because he isn't bad to look at. Plus, he is trying to change things for the better...even though it may not be going well at the moment...
*What kind of shoes are your favorite?
NO SHOES :) I like to be barefoot as much as possible. But when I do need shoes I like some kind of slip ons.
*Where would you live if you could live anywhere?
I would want to live anywhere that my children are located...I want to be with my family.
Rhea (my mother) asks:
*Is Jesus still a part of your life?
Yes. I believe in him, and pray to him occassionally. I do not go to church though, or read the bible. (I do read scriptures that people post on their blogs though sometimes, that counts, sorta) I think I can be a good person and believe in Jesus, even if I don't go to church. If not, well...I hope he is as forgiving as he is supposed to be, and forgives me...
Dear Donna aka Dazee asks:
*What was the fad when you were in high school?
Well Donna dear, you know I've mentioned how sucky my memory is before...so I actually had to research to refresh my memory as to what was going on all those years ago! When I did, I was totally laughing my butt off. Let me tell you about some 80's fads (I graduated in 1987)...
leg warmers, tail hairstyles, zipper leg jeans, valley girl talk (Like wow! Like totally! Like gag me with a spoon!), big hair bows, Weird Al, wearing your collar up, big hair, break dancing, California Raisins, Miami Vice fashion, shoulder pads, OP aka Ocean Pacific clothing, Izod shirts, big (and multiple) belts, parachute pants, penny loafers, chinese slippers (remember those black lightweight baby doll looking shoes), the saying "PSYCHE!", Sixteen Candles the movie, Pacman, Cheech & Chong, Duran Duran, Poison, Def Lepard, Boy George, Madonna, Michael Jackson....my oh my the list goes on...Here are a few others, a visual for you:
Lets not forget this popular commercial of the 80's...Wendy's "Where's the beef?"
There you go! Questions answered. I hope you had a great day today, and an even better tomorrow...
Your turn: QOTD: What was your favorite 80's fad?
