Pool Experience

As I mentioned yesterday, we were going to my Cindy & Dan's house for Kelsey & Bree to go into the pool (Jilly didn't go because she was at Bria's). It was Bree's first experience in a big pool, with cold water. She was not a fan. I think once the water warms up more and she gets used to it she'll love it, but the first experience wasn't super. There was a brief time where Kelsey got her distracted by tossing a ball then going after it over and over, where she enjoyed it a bit, but she spent most of the time sitting next to me with our feet dangling in the water from the pool edge. Poor thing got so cold she was shivering. Kels loved the water though, she always does! I bet Jilly would have too! Me? I didn't get in, I didn't want to be mistaken for Shamu.

I'll post some pics real quick and then today's QOTD, then I'm outta here to go play outside with Miss Crankypants Bree.

Oh, one more thing, please keep my friends Cindy & Dan in your thoughts today. They are going to what would have been Elliott's Graduation ceremony. The school will be honoring Elliott with a empty chair, and some words in a speech I believe...Its a hard day for them.

Ready for pics?

Heck yes, I can swim. But I'm with Bree on the cold water crap. The pool has got to be warm enough for me to enjoy it. Swimming is not meant to be shivering and shaking. You go Bree.

I'm not a fan of the cold water either-the pools open here in SLC Memorial Weekend, and I know it will still be too cold to go out, but my kids are such fishes (except for Ava) that they won't care! It took Ava awhile last year at our townhome swimming pool to like it. She screamed the first few times, then by the end of the year she was jumping into David's arms off the side of the pool! :)

YES I know how to swim, I had lessons as a kid and prided myself on being able to swim to the deep end to retrieve the hockey puck! :)

Despite Bree not liking the water, it looks like you all had a LOT of fun at Cindy's house.

I really feel for her and her husband. Things are going to be really rough for them over the next year as they experience all the firsts without Elliot but she's a strong woman and she'll get through it with the help of friends and family.

QOTD: Yes, I can swim. I love swimming.

At least Bree had fun when she got out of the water! Cute pics, BTW!

I feel so sorry for Cindy and Dan. I can't imagine how tough it is for them. I wouldn't want to wish the lose of a child on my worst enemy.

QOTD: Yep I can swim. I had lessons at the Y when I was a kid. I "heart" swimming!! :)
