It's Wednesday! I think. Sometimes the days just run together and I don't know what day it is. Anyways, its time for Renee's Recipe Round up! The ingredient theme for this week is a cake mix. What do you do with one? Do you have a special recipe made out of a cake mix base? How do you doctor one up? Blog it, and link back to me :) Add your link to the linky below, which will be open till Tuesday.
Before I give my recipe, I must say something. Yesterday's post about the strange thing in the picture brought me the most comments I think I ever had on a post! I wish I'd get that many on a regular basis, but apparently I'm boring unless there is a penis shadow in the pictures I post haha. Did you know there is a website just for pictures with accidental penis shapes? I believe its called accidental dong. I saw it one day in a list of meme's and checked it out of course...some funny stuff there. Stuff like mushrooms and various veggies in that shape, and shadows of things forming that shape, packaging that has the shape hidden...strange stuff. I should send in my picture :)
Ok, on with my recipe. I think I got this from my grandma, many years ago. Its a Chocolate Cherry Cake.
You will need:
1 chocolate cake mix
1 can of cherry pie filling
3 eggs
(totally optional 2 T. water, the recipe doesn't really call for it, but I always add it, just for extra moistness)
Mix it all up and toss it in a 9x13 pan sprayed w/cooking spray. Bake according to the cake mix directions, usually around 30 min. at 350 degrees. Cool. Serve with cool whip topping on top. Its yummy, and super easy!
Here are some pictures as Bree & I made one the other night.
QOTD: what is your favorite cake flavor?

Dang it Renee. I hardly every cook. Or bake.
I do use yellow cake mix when I make corn bread. Makes it moist and yummy. Since we've moved tho, I don't know if I can find the recipe. I promise I will look.
Funny you should post that recipe...I just bought the ingredients to make it once Dad eats all his birthday cake!
